- access. access to OLD1 (Ragman Section) is from Minera Quarry and is normally unrestricted, and to OLD2/3 is via the ODB connection and is managed by NWCC on a leader system due to the sensitivity of the natural formations; all access via Minera Quarry is temporarily suspended whilst a new licence is agreed with the landowner North Wales Wildlife Trust
- background. Ogof Llyn Ddu (OLD) forms the original drainage route of Master Cave forthe Minera Mountain system; it has 3 main parts separated by 2 sumps. The original Ragman Passage of OLD1 was found by NWCC in 1986. The Ragman sump was traversed by diver Paul Whybro to discover OLD2 and OLD3; a short sump between these can be drained by siphoning, and OLD3 has been linked to The Park Western Vein Caverns; there are a number of prospects for further extensions.
