North Wales Caving Club

Clwb Ogofedd Gogledd Cymru

Four members of the club spent a superb ten days in the Ardeche region of France during April.  A number of excellent caves were visited including the outstanding Grotte De Saint-Marcel-d'Ardeche where the very enjoyable through trip was undertaken.  Contacts made earlier in the year with local cavers also permitted a trip into the beautiful Aven Noel.

At the end of July six club members spent two weeks in the French Pyrenees with the intention of doing one of the great through trips of the world in the Pierre Saint Martin system.  Unfortunately an obscene amount of rain fell and for most of the time the streamway was too dangerous to attempt.  The upper and lower parts of the system were visited as were many other interesting caves in the area.

Digging at Minera is still producing results, contact Mike or Dewi if you're interested in helping out.
